Kwesi Mitchell, a junior right-fielder for NJIT, has been named New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II/III Co-Player of the Week. Mitchell went 9 for 16 (.563) in a 3-1 week. NJIT (19-12) sits in first place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a 17-3 league record. >>

The NJIT women's basketball team has been selected to the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Championship as the No. 3 seed-- the first time in program history that NJIT has earned a postseason berth beyond the conference tournament level. NJIT sophomore Kelly Crowe has been named to the All-Tournament Team of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. NJIT used a 15-0 second-half run to pull away from visiting Dominican (N.Y.) College in its 67-45 quarterfinal victory of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball tournament on Tuesday night at the Fleisher Athletic Center. It was the first postseason victory for the Highlanders in their eight years as a member of NCAA Division II. NJIT, the tournament's No. 4 seed, moves on to play top seed Holy Family University in the semifinals on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Caldwell College. >>
